Komforte Chockolates Review

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Yesterday, I was having terrible chocolate cravings. When I was done grinding my teeth and scratching at the walls, I did what anyone on a diet would do. I went to the grocery store to buy a a ton of chocolate. The large selection of confections was positively overwhelming. That is, until I saw Komforte Chockolate's French Toast chocolate bars. Without hesitation I bought one, and forgot about the other 1,999.5 lbs. of chocolate I planned on buying.

When I unwrapped my treat from it's simple and tasteful packaging, I was pleased to see a charming wood-like print on the chocolate.

The taste was unlike any chocolate I have ever had before. The chocolate, itself was smooth, creamy and sweet, just as milk chocolate should be. However, the surprise came in the little bits of crunchy French toast scattered within the bar. They were extremely buttery and a little salty. The butter really accentuated the flavor of the milk, which is great for a dairy-lover like myself. The French toast really made every bite interesting! I'd recommend Komforte Chockolate's Fench Toast chocolate bars to any chocolate lover! I plan to try Ramen next time!

The clutch that goes with everything...If you're me.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
This sequined lavender and pink clutch/makeup bag from Shin & Company is simple enough to work with casual and formal outfits, yet unique enough to get you noticed! Although some may save this clutch for parties and clubbing, I'm the kind of girl that would bring it with me everywhere, from weddings to grocery shopping. Yeah, I'm just cool* like that...

*totally not cool. Seriously. You should see me. Actually, I take that back. Maybe you shouldn't see me.

Yosuke USA. Literally the best thing in the world.

There are few times that I get so excited that I need to remember to breathe. For example, my first day of kindergarten, when I got my braces off, when I FINALLY passed driver's ed, my first date with my boyfriend, and when I found out about Yosuke USA. Long have I wished for shoes like my boyfriend's. There was only one problem. They needed to be, you know, Cuter. There's the problem. Where will I ever find cute and feminine engineer boots? I thought it was only a pipe dream.

Untill....

LG Ice Cream 2

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Although the LG Ice Cream 2 has been around for a couple years, I STILL can't get over it! They come in adorable ice cream-inspired colors and have even bigger LCD screens than the original Ice Cream. With the LED lighting, you can see cute emoticons or short messages whenever you receive a call or text! Along with normal features, the Ice Cream 2 also comes with web surfing, a videophone option, electronic dictionary, mobile broadband, and has an option to stream TV!

Enjoy the Ice Cream 2 CF with Big Bang and actress Kim Tae Hee!

Korean and Japanese Shopping Services

A lovely reader asked for a tutorial on buying products from overseas. I don't know if this would really qualify as a tutorial, but I hope it's some kind of help!

Japan
I know that Rakuten is Japan's most popular shopping service.Companies that cater to their foreign customers (i.e. Bodyline and Chocomint) will usually have a foreign shipping option through Rakuten on their website. However, I've heard that small independent shopping services are the way to go.

I personally use a small indie shopping service, myself. I use Chibi Tenshi's service on Livejournal.

I also hear that Mochi Machine's shopping service is great! They seem to be the most popular.

All you have to do is send them a link to the item you want and they will order it for you. You will have to pay extra for the services (usually 10-20% of the total cost), plus shipping and handling. They all use Paypal. They both also do in-shop services. So, if there is something you really want, not sold on the company's website, they may go into the store and get it for you. However, they only do this for some stores, so make sure to ask where they do in-store shopping!

Korea
I haven't bought anything from South Korea yet (or North Korea, but I think you could have guessed that). Now, I have spent some time looking up Korean shopping services and these seem the best from what I have seen. However, I haven't used them before, so don't take my word for it!

I hear that Sunkyung on LiveJournal is doing a shopping service. You might want to ask about it.

Watertonkorea has some recommendations. I don't know how they are, though.

I also seen a few people recommend Koreanshopping, however I've seen some pretty bad reviews on their site, so I would be careful...

Minarin shop does orders with or without Paypal. They say they
"do not do any other Koren stores, but you can submit a request."

Sechuna-pers does group orders.

Last, but definitely not least is Gmarket. Gmarket is basically the same thing as Rakuten, but in South Korea, instead of Japan. Just like Rakuten, you can buy items straight off of their website. They have a very extensive selection. The only downside is that you can only purchase what they offer. You can't requst them to order something for you that they do not feature on their website.

A great place to buy items from all over East Asia is AsiaJam.
Don't forget to look them up.

I hope this helps! Thank you for looking!

GabalStory wigs. For a cute, natural look.

Lately I've been considering buying some wigs. This may sound silly to some people here in the Western Hemisphere. However, attitudes towards wigs are slightly different in East Asia, where wigs and hairpieces are seen as great ways to easily get the hair you may not be able to grow or style on your own.

I, personally am terrible with hair. My hair is so thick that blow drying and straightening anything other than my bangs takes well over 30 minutes. I am left with flat, boring-looking hair. To my great happiness, I found some natural looking wigs (at least in their photos) that are rather affordable on gabalstory.com. They average around $25-$30 and they have a great selection of styles in both female and male wigs!

Each wig comes with a rather extensive photo shoot, showing the wigs in different angles and styles. However, you must watch out! I swear that I got a major inferiority complex looking at the models. They are JUST.TOO.CUTE. I know I will never look like they do in the wigs, but that won't stop me from giving it a try!

Like Chatroulette but with a lot less P33N*!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
KittehRoulette is a great website for any Youtube cat video addict, or just someone looking for a cuter, less trauma-inducing version of Chatroulette! You can randomly click through cute cat videos to your heart's content! It's so much more convenient than having to wade though all the garbage on Youtube that is not cat videos, just to get to the measly 1,000,000,000,000 cat videos on youtube. My only complaint is that it's not named "CatRoulette", because it rhymes much better with "Chatroulette".

*Yes, I did say that in the title. Crude, I know.

You can't eat these Pocky, but you can eat with them!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Now, I know Pocky and J-List are rather Otakuesque (not that there is anything wrong with that). However, I can't help but love these Pocky chopsticks they sell! I'm in love with all things sweets-themed and I think these chopsticks would look adorable with Decotti-style sweets deco, similar to what I have seen in Deco and Deco magazine.

Swimmer Makes the cutest Headphones in the World.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
It's no mystery that Swimmer is a cute lover's one-stop-shop for cute and affordable headphones. However, I couldn't help myself from posting some up. This pair in particular, caught my eye. I love the hearts and the pink/lilac color combination! I also love that they fold up for easy storage.

I am Maru Review

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
There are only three movies that I can watch over and over, day after day. I am Maru (Maru Desu) just happens to be one of them. For over a year I have been watching videos of this adorable box-sliding, round-faced cat. He takes up a large space on my Youtube favorites, and a small little space of my box-shaped heart.

When I saw that Maru released a DVD, I knew that I had to get it! Let me tell you something: IT IS WORTH THE $30.00! Not only do you get to see him play in boxes, as usual. You also get to see footage not previously shown online. On top of that, the whole movie is captioned in both Japanese and English!

The film starts out with basic information on Maru and a background story (i.e. when he was born, how tall he is, how much he weighs, why his name is Maru (it means "round" in Japanese). Through out the movie you get to see him eat, play in the bath, go for a walk in the garden, get brushed, play with his toys, and much more! In between each segment you get to see some short footage of his grooming routine (brushing his teeth and watching him use the litter box are just two examples).

The special features are just as adorable! You can watch extra footage of him playing in the bathtub, shown in a comic book panel format as well as watch Maru's "Top 10 Slide-ins"! Last, but not least of the special features is Maru's photo slideshow. It features pictures of almost every aspect of Maru's life.

Overall, after watching this movie, I felt very close to Maru. You get to learn so much about him, it's almost as if you personally know him. I am Maru is a very intimate and tasteful look into Maru's life that will melt your heart! If you are a fan of Maru, or even just a cat lover, I promise that this movie will not disappoint!
